3 DAYS, 2 NIGHTS MAASAI MARA GROUP JOINING BUDGET SAFARI – IN A 4X4 LANDCRUISER – WITHOUT PARK FEES

This is a group safari to Maasai Mara Game Reserve. The safari begins with pick up from Nairobi at a central location (Muindi Mbingu Street) or pick up from hotels within the Nairobi CBD or Westland’s area near the highway for easy pick up.
The safari is in a 4 x 4 landcruiser jeep and you will spend the night in a tented camp which is all ensuite with a bathroom, flushing toilet and bed.

Explore the vast Mara savannah on budget in this classic Kenya safari adventure.Watch as many wildlife as possible, including the famed African five, Big Cats & wildebeest migration (July – October)

Masai Mara National Park is known as one of the finest wildlife destinations in the World. There is an excellent chance of seeing the Africa Big Five, cheetah, serval, hyena, bat-eared foxes, black-backed and side-striped jackals, hippo, crocodile, baboons, warthog, topi, eland, Thompson’s gazelle, Grant’s gazelle, impalas, water bucks, oribi, reed-buck, zebra on the Masai Mara Safari.

  Big Group at Tsavo East  - Joel and his team did a wonderful job taking care of us on our two day Safari Safari. He is such a gracious host who makes you feel at home... read more despite the 9000 mile difference.

We traveled with 20 people, and yet our experience felt personal and intentional. They made sure we have plenty of water and snacks for our long almost 9 hour day 2 game drive.

The vehicles were clean and comfortable. We never felt cramped despite having seven passengers on board.

Itinerary

Day 1: Nairobi to Maasai Mara

At 8 am, you will be picked up from your hotel within the city Centre/Westland area and commence the drive to Maasai Mara via the Great Rift Valley viewpoint where you will have a breathtaking view of the floor of the rift valley. Arrive in the camp in time for lunch. Check in and have lunch. In the evening at 4.00pm depart for a sunset game viewing drive in the Maasai Mara National Reserve where chances of seeing the big cats is extremely high ending at 6:00 pm.

Return back to the camp for a sumptuous buffet dinner ending with good time for resting.

Spend the night in Rhino Tourist camp/ Similar.

Day 2: Full Day Game Drive in Maasai Mara Reserve

Early breakfast and at 6:30 am,Depart for a full day game viewing in Maasai Mara National Reserve. This is the most important day since we are hoping to see the big five, especially the big cats which are extremely illusive. Arrive at the world-famous Mara River, the iconic site of the annual Great Migration. Learn how millions of wildebeests and zebras brave these waters every year as they move from the Serengeti in search of fresh pasture.

Alight from your vehicle for a thrilling, safe guided walk along the riverbanks accompanied by armed park rangers ( recommended tip of $ 5 for the ranger). Get a close-up look at massive Nile crocodiles basking in the sun and large families of hippos submerged in the pools. Your guide will select a scenic, safe spot under a classic African acacia tree. Enjoy your packed lunch boxes out in the open, taking in the breathtaking, uninterrupted views of the Maasai Mara landscapes. Drive to the official, marker-stone border point where Kenya’s Maasai Mara meets Tanzania’s Serengeti National Park. Snap some memorable photos standing with one foot in each country.

Enjoy a scenic drive back to camp as the animals become active in the prime afternoon light.

Day 3: Depart Maasai Mara to Nairobi

Early morning breakfast then checks out for your drive back to Nairobi. Optional visit to Maasai Village at an extra cost. On arrival you will be dropped at the city center/hotel within the city center.  end of the tour.
