This is a private safari where you get to explore the Ol pejeta conservancy and the Samburu reserve.
Nairobi to Ol Pejeta Conservancy.
At 7am you will be picked up from your Nairobi Hotel/Airport. Here you will have a stopover at the equator crossing. This is an imaginary line that divides the earth into 2 hemispheres: north and south. There is a big sign where you will be able to take a photo saying you are now crossing the equator then proceed with the journey and arrive in time for lunch. In the afternoon you will depart for a game viewing drive in the conservancy. Return back to the camp for a sumptuous dinner ending with good time for resting at the Comfort Garden Sweetwater’s /Similar: https://www.comfortgardens.com/comfortgardens-nanyuki/home
Breakfast at the camp, then check out and commence drive to Samburu National Reserve located in Northern Kenya. Arrive in Samburu in time for lunch, check in and have a short rest. Later I have an evening game viewing.
Samburu is famous for its truly wild semi-arid landscape, and the large concentration of wild animals and birdlife. Together with the adjoining Shaba and Buffalo Springs national reserves, Samburu is popular for hosting the rare Northern-Kenya animal species (Gerenuk, Reticulated Giraffe, Grevy’s zebra, Beisa Oryx and Somali Ostrich) which are not found in the other popular parks and reserves in Kenya. It is also home to all the African big cats (lion, cheetah and leopard), alongside other big game including elephants, buffaloes, warthogs, hippos, impala, waterbuck and many others. Samburu is also a renowned bird watching haven, with hundreds of bird species resident here. These include kingfisher, bee-eaters, tawny eagle, guineafowl, yellow throated spur-fowl, lilac-breasted roller, red-billed hornbill, secretary bird, Verreaux’s eagle, superb starling, yellow-billed hornbill and vultures. The unique culture of The Samburu tribe who live in the region is the icing to cake for the amazing Samburu National Reserve.
